Leadership "Carebreaks":

Volunteer Service

This volunteer carebreak was designed to work with the Save the Chimps foundation located in Ft. Pierce, Fl. The non-profit organization purpose is to care for rescued chimpanzees that were saved from scientific research or entertainment in the United States. There was a group of about 12  total students from Slippery Rock University. We worked on different projects such as constructing toys and nutritious snacks for the chimps. I also had the personal experience of working with the Communications staff on their employee web page design and their "Chimp Art" fundraiser.

Volunteer Service

This leadership carebreak was a partnership between S.O.L and Student Government Association in giving back to under developed communities in San Antonio. We went down for 3 days and worked with different schools within the San Antonio school district. We worked with domestic and immigrant elementary students on science projects and English assignments. We also worked with the San Antonio: Boys and Girls club kids with their homework after school. Lastly, we assisted in a food drive with a local all girl high school for underprivileged students in the district during the holidays.
